Been a tour guide for Hanno

Cuba tour guide
It was so nice and so special. Dates and numbers were not really important. History came in the way of stories and feelings. This man from Netherland had a special connection with the buildings, the streets, people coming and going. Cuba was a postponed dream that finally came true, and I was there to share those moments.

Now Hanno knows a little more about us, Cubans, our music, dreams and hug efforts to make a better place. A friendly country where there is good and bad, but where the good ones make the difference.

Do you have any questions for him? I know he is willing to share his emotions.

Four polands in havana

A couple and two friends from Poland visited Havana. They came with their happiness and the intention to meet as much as possible.

A couple and two friends from Poland visited Havana. They came with their happiness and the intention to meet as much as possible. Each day was a long tour that started a 7:00 am and lasted late.
The Cannon Ceremony in San Carlos de la Cabaña Fortress welcomed them with the exact 9:00 o´clock shoot despite the impertinent rain.
For the morning of the second day Old Havana received them and their curiosity that never stopped asking questions about our life, manners, traditions and spirit. The afternoon took  us to the modern part of the city and the amazing watching spot of the Revolution Square.
The last day we run away from the ancient noisy city to the western part of the Island. An old car with a powerful engine drove us to Viñales. Green, beauty, and wonderful surprises appeared every where. On the way back we stopped in Las Terrazas, (about 40 km from Havana) and went swimming in San Juan river. It was almost night, but still had time for some Cuban salsa in “La Gruta”.
Henryk was the tour leader and the happiest person I´ve ever met. His solidarity and generosity made him get closed to common people in a very spontaneous way.

From Slovakia to Havana

Tourists in Cuba

Vladimir and Jana are  a beautiful couple  from Slovakia. They came to Cuba by the first time and I had the chance to introduce them to my country.
The first day they met Old Havana with its ancient style and mysteries, but the second was devoted to the Revolution Square and other special places different from colonial architecture.
Vladimir loved that old red car which took as all around the city. I could just take a few photos, but will never forget Jana´s smile and prophecies.

The why of this Blog

cuba havana tour guide

There is always a reason to start something. In this case, there are 3 of them. First I want to offer my service as a guide, second I love to talk about my country and about the courage of the Cubans who work, create, love and live in this island, and third I just don´t want to forget those wonderful moments I have lived.
As I always say, each meeting is an opportunity to show and discover my own country at the same time.
Thanks to all those who encouraged me to write about it and who accepted to publish and share their photos and stories.
